It's Back! Summer Colors

My favorite event of the year is just around the corner...Summer Colors!

Summer Colors is a silent art auction featuring fantastic works by local artists.  All proceeds benefit Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. There are multiple reasons to attend this event: support the hospital, support local artists, wine and dine one food that is so yummy and pretty it is an art itself, and score some unbelievable art.

Here's a look in behind the doors of my home, which shows what a true fan of this event I really am.  Every year, my husband and I bring home a piece (or two) that we won at Summer Colors.  Nearly all of the art in our house is from the annual Summer Colors event.  It is so special because each of these pieces were created by Texas artists with the children of TSRHC in mind.  Every time I glance up at one, I am reminded of the big hearts of these artists and just how important their work truly is.

Summer Colors 2016, July 21st at 6:30pm!

TGIF because the new issue of Flea Market Decor is out and well, you know my mom??? (Fran Thompson Holley/ Frantiques/ supermom/ supergrandma/ junker extra-ordinare that taught me everything I know about thrifting and painting furniture and creating fab living spaces out of trash?)

The same lady that made my sister a really cute cradle back in 1978 out of a banana crate?
Well, she has a 16 PAGE SPREAD on their ranch house she designed out of junk galore in the new issue.  Check it here below.

Oh and if you are in the Dallas area - you don't want to miss her FANTASTIC FRANTIQUES GARAGE SALE tomorrow (4/23/16) on Merrilee Lane, 75214.  Happy Earth Day for the love of recycling junk.  And peace!

Mid Feb Uptown Country Home Happenings

Took another stab at an abstract painting.  The painting shown after it is a recent commission of a family at Disneyland - clearly I am all over the map on what client's commission me to paint!  For more info on my artwork, click here.

Today was a seats down - furniture in - carseat out day. Or as some like to call it, mother's day out.  Delivered new treasures and fluffed things up at both of my antique malls.
Pics below.

Also, save the date because the Dallas Flea (now known as Flea Style) is back!  Uptown Country and Frantiques will collaborate again with 3 spaces in a few weeks.

Happy weekend. Love, Jenny
