Hello again January!

Normally I'm not an abstract painter, but I do tell my clients I will paint anything! (and that includes their furniture too) This one was commissioned by Dayme Walther for one of her fab Dallas design clients.  Was so much fun to do - especially the request for gold leafing peeking through. Once I started with the leafing I wanted to spread that stuff on everything in site.  It's addicting for people like us.  You know who you are and you know what I mean.  Added this painting to the "Etcetera" in my gallery because it is definitely not my usual subject, but I enjoyed it.

Uptown Country is getting ready for a big makeover and a space move at Richardson Mercantile.  I am taking over the space of Sarah at R & R Design Works - which means the new spot comes complete with reclaimed wood chevron walls! This is what it looks like now (Uptown Country sale on the left, my new space on the right, my baby helping sweep.) Now somebody please explain to me my this kid HAS to have a broom with him at all times!?

Ok you see those walls now?  Want them in your house?  She can do it for you.  She also has a way cool new pop up shop at the redone Dallas Farmer's Market where I picked up one of these, for my sister of course.

An Uptown Country Tablescape

This Theta was honored to be among the talented designers who put together a table for the annual Dallas Kappa Tablescapes Fundraiser.  There were phenomenal tables by fabulous designers to raise money for various charities in the community through the Kappa Foundation.

The event was chaired by Ann Fox, one of my idols in the shabby chic community!

Other designers included The Gypsy Wagon, Leontine Linens, Madre, Neiman Marcus, Stanley Korshak, Dwell with Dignity, Hope Hill Design and so many more. I wish I had more photos of their tables because they were all so unique and pretty.  

Below is one gorgeous pic of Shannon Shulgen King's table at Hope Hill Design.  If you are in North Texas and you ever need tablescape, floral, event design services - she does AMAZING work.

Thompson Uptown Country Duck First Birthday!

 I can't believe my duck-loving baby is ONE!  Here are some shots from his ducky first birthday, done in the Uptown Country style - a little vintage, a little new, and a lot of one bright color!

 The fab yellow leather duck is from Madre.  Thompson "made" me buy it when I was there visiting Little Bean. The others are mostly vintage finds.

 We lucked out with a morning surprise from the new Yard Party DFW- check it out, they customize ANYTHING!
