The 10 Best of 2010 at Uptown Country Home!

It has been a fabulous 4th year at our Uptown Country Home shop in Snider Plaza, here in Dallas.  We thought we would recap for you what has been hot and loved all year long...

1. RECYCLING YOUR FURNITURE AND LETTING US GIVE IT A MAKEOVER...

2. FRANTIQUES BY FRAN HOLLEY
Frantiques is a line of trash to treasure and refurbished antique finds developed by Fran Holley, Mother of Uptown Country owner, Jenny Grumbles.  Working out of her Dallas, Texas, studio, Holley creates unique and personal gifts for her daughter's shop.

3. SOUTHERN FRIED PAPER
We knew Chelsea Carpenter's designs would be a hit as soon as we saw them.  This year, Uptown Country was only the 2nd store to carry her designs.

4. TWO'S COMPANY ROYAL PYTHON TRAYS

Our hottest online seller this year...

5. BURLAP

 6. J.Grumbles Studio Paintings

7. Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe & Barbie

8. Dash and Albert Rugs & Pine Cone Hill Bedding

9. Fun Prints in Vintage Frames

10. Peace

HAPPY 2011!

BY BAY AND BY SEA

By Sea: I was lucky to be able to spend the weekend at the most magical beach house ever (above) in Martha's Vineyard.
By Bay: When I returned, one of my all-time favorite bloggers, SF Girl By Bay, posted about my pad and all things Pine Cone Hill and Dash and Albert. You can see the post here. The link to her whole blog, which is full of pretty photos from her journeys through San Fran and a whole lot of bohemian-chic style, is here.

SPOTTED: PINE CONE HILL LATTICE

Southern Accent's May/June 2008 issue has a pretty piece on trelliage. The chocolate lattice pillow pictured above is available in panels, shams, and bedskirts too. Click here to see. According to Kelly Wearstler, "Trellis can be used in any application. It's always best to be as free-spirited as possible when it comes to interior design - the best ideas are born this way."

SHE'S CRAFTY

My crafty friend Hannah, of Hannah Abney Designs, gave her studio a makeover.

I am particularly obsessed with the chair she recovered all by herself in leftover fabric from her Pine Cone Hill Edelweiss Crewel Panels she bought at Uptown Country. The first picture is the chair (pre-Hannah makeover) at her desk. Umm, how cute is the hot pink pom pom trim in the finished product?
